(Reuters) – Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are in talks to commit in Welsh facet Wrexham, who play in the fifth tier of English soccer, the club’s supporters trust claimed on Wednesday.
Canadian Reynolds, famed for starring in superhero comedy Deadpool, and U.S. actor McElhenney, creator and star of sitcom It’s Often Sunny in Philadelphia, were unveiled as the two bidders who were being fascinated in investing in the club.
A statement from the club’s Supporters Rely on Board on Wednesday said 97.five% of its 1,223 members had voted in favour of continuing talks with the two actors.
“In thanks study course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will set forward their eyesight for Wrexham AFC and proposal for users to vote on at a 2nd Particular General Conference,” additional the statement.
Wrexham, who contend in the Nationwide League and perform at the 10,000 potential Racecourse Floor, have under no circumstances performed in the prime-flight of English soccer.
